Reflections is a mini study created as part of the same series of James and Molly. painted in the late 2018, this work was an experiment in duplicating an image - creating a mirrored portrait that becomes more than just repetition. The reflection transforms into a metaphor: a doubling of self, a doubling of emotions. 
Through the bold use of oil and palette knife, the figures become textured, raw and imperfect - embodying the layered nature of mood and identity. As a study, it represents the artists search for new ways to capture emotion, not just in a single face, but in the way the face echos back at us, shifting with perspective.
